Introductions.
Greetings! Thank you for stopping by John Stermer Fine Art. I would like to introduce you to our blog by telling you about us, the contributors. I’d also like to share news about an upcoming John Stermer Retrospective.
Who Are We?
We are artist John Stermer’s family and our intention is to share stories about Dad’s artwork and life. I am Margaret and go by the nickname “Peggy”, one of his daughters. My husband Robert is the webmaster. My sister Dorothy manages the John Stermer Estate for my mother Luci (John’s widow).
Yes, there are more family members including my sisters Maria, Suzanne and Michelle. They may contribute in the future as they like. Plus, the larger extended family may contribute. In the meantime, you have me, I’m happy to say.
Why now?
My family and I have long talked about capturing our memories of Dad, his work and his artist’s life. We are not getting any younger so there is an urgency to get going on the project.
Plus, Dorothy, estate manager, is curating a retrospective exhibition of John Stermer work at The Gallery ABQ in Albuquerque NM. As I started writing small articles for his John Stermer Fine Art Facebook page in order to promote the show my husband and I began to realize that we have the beginnings of a blog.
