Introducing Laura McIndoo.
Laura is a functional ceramic artist living and working in Albuquerque. Her studio is named “Red Bud Pottery”, which some of you may be familiar with.
Wheel-thrown and hand-built are the types of pottery she creates. And, about her work she says:
“Each piece brings together elements of beauty – patterns from history, rich hues, botanical motifs, and graceful details. All functional pieces are meant to bring beauty to your home as well as being used on a daily basis”. *
For more about Laura McIndoo, we invite you to visit her website.
The Gallery ABQ.
Back in 2017, we exhibited John’s paintings at The Gallery ABQ. And, we had such a great time, we decided to come back.
Speaking of The Gallery ABQ, we would like to extend a huge “THANK YOU” to The Gallery ABQ’s curators Pat Cream (Director) and, coming on board, George Hays. Also, send our heartfelt thanks to Linda Weiss, Marketing and Advertising; and Laura McIndoo, Post Cards and Ad Design.
We appreciate the work you do for us.
“Northwest Meets Southwest”.
To explain, we chose the theme “Northwest Meets Southwest” because both artists have ties to New England and to New Mexico. That is, John Stermer and Laura McIndoo were raised in New England. Later in their life, they relocated in New Mexico. And, perhaps inevitably, the climate and culture of both regions influence their work.

More To Come!
Thank you for stopping by! As stated before, we intend to have more articles about this summer’s show. In the meantime, we hope that you will mark your calendars and plan to come to the show!

Grand Manan Lighthouse.
In closing, the two John Stermer paintings were purposely chosen. The Grand Manan Lighthouse painting set as the featured image (and below), is one of his “northeast” paintings. And, you might recognize, the Sandia Peak Juniper is one of John’s southwest paintings.
We hope to talk more about this topic in the future.
